Artist T. Peltro's depiction of The Bon Homme Richard, under John Paul Jones, captured the British ship SERAPIS off the coast of England. The artwork is presented in this red transferware plate, from Shenango Pottery. White porcelain plate with an embossed border. This series of plates was commissioned by the American Legion Auxiliary in the mid- to late-1930's. This is plate #1 in the series of 12. Plate measures 10 3/4" diameter and is excellent condition -- no cracks, chips, scratches, crazing. -
