Every now and then, one finds an item with a great story! I wish we knew the history of the beautiful chitnzware sauce boat. She is beautiful! The handle is a work of art, firmly attached to the sauce boat, that has lots of natural crazing (crackling) in the glaze. Both items are in good vintage condition -- no cracks, knicks, repairs. The boat has minor interior staining from age and use.
Boat is 5 3/4" long (spout to handle), 2 1/2" wide, 2 1/2" tall.
Plate is 6 1/4" long, 3 3/4" wide.
Both have a very old bottom mark from Japan -- I could not find the origin or maker.
