The Sundblom Santa Series was inspired by the Santa Claus art of Haddon Sundblom. Santa is depicted peeking in on the children that have fallen asleep in the chair, anxiously awaiting his arrival. It has been said that this artist is, "Santa's favorite artist." The first Sundblom Santa appeared in advertising in 1931. The artist is Haddon Sundblom.
Haddon Hubbard "Sunny" Sundblom (June 22, 1899 – March 10, 1976) was an American artist of Finnish and Swedish descent and best known for the images of Santa Claus he created for The Coca-Cola Company in 1931. He used his own image, which became a brand and advertising for the beverage company. Mr. Sundblom is referred to as "Santa's Favorite Artist!"
