Translated from Italian, the back of the plate reads:
Plate no. BC BA5489 of the first and very limited edition of "The Adoration of the Magi" by the Master Alberto Santangela. First in the series of collector's plates "The Gates of Ghiberti," faithfully reproduced by hand from the northern doors of the baptistery of Florence, originally made by Lorenzo Ghiberti in 1424. Cast and finished by hand in Tuscany in ivory alabaster. Produced under the trademark of Studio Dante and under the aegis of the Museum of the Duomo of Florence. 1330-31.
The cast-alabaster plate measures 8 1/2" diameter and in good condition - no chips, cracks, notable damage to the carving. Pictures 9 & 10 show dark areas on the BACK of the plate. The dark areas do not appear on the plate face.
Original box, with dark brown flocked interior, has certificates and info booklet included. Box has some wear but also the history of the plate which traveled from Italy. (custom stickers, etc.)
