Stunning 1978 Royal Copenhagen plate commemorates Captain James Cook's historic discovery of Hawaii in 1778. Part of Royal Copenhagen's annual collection, crafted in Denmark in their signature blue and white porcelain. Lots of detail in the artwork, featuring Cook's profile, tall ships in the bay, palm-trees in the background.
Royal Copenhagen marks on back, along with artists mark. Measures 7 1/4" diameter, and is in excellent condition -- no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches.
Perfect gift for blue and white plate collectors, or history buffs. Also nice in a maritime-themed decor.
